Free home-service websites in Washington, DC
Washington is a rowhouse and condo market in the middle of a much larger metro. Capitol Hill, Petworth, and Georgetown mean stairs, shared walls, flat or low roofs, and parking that belongs in the estimate. Arlington and Silver Spring are real demand and a different state license, a different permit counter, and often a different house. Humidity and freeze both show up. Many mechanicals are older than the renovation photos suggest. A page that says 'DMV' and lists every county is the regional version of a call center. Name the jurisdictions you can legally work and the neighborhoods you can reach before noon.
Owners, condo boards, and property managers hire differently. The page has to say which of those jobs you take, and which state you are licensed in.
Permits, when the job needs them, run through DC Department of Buildings permits.
