AI visibility checklist

Seven questions for an owner whose plumbing, HVAC, roofing, or other company never shows up when someone asks ChatGPT, Google AI, or Perplexity. Yes, partly, or no. The score uses only what you select.

The long version is why those tools skip a local company. The map listing is a separate note: how a small company can win the map pack.

1. Are your business name, city, and phone identical on the website, the Google listing, the truck, and the invoices?

Same spelling of the name. One phone number. The same city. A street address only if customers can walk in.

2. Do you have a website that lists the services you want and the towns you actually drive?

A Facebook page is not the site. The services and the towns should be text on the page.

3. Are the questions customers ask answered in text a crawler can read?

Towns you cover, license, what you do not do, repair versus replacement. Not only inside an image, a PDF, or a chat window.

4. Do you have real reviews that mention the job and the neighborhood?

On Google, and on the site once they are real. Sample quotes do not count.

5. Does the page include structured data that matches the visible name, phone, city, and services?

The machine-readable block should say the same thing a person sees.

6. Could a stranger summarize the business in a few sentences from the page alone?

Who you are, the trade, the towns, and how to call. If a sentence could belong to any company, it does not count.

7. Is your Google Business Profile filled out and matched to the website?

Primary category for the trade you want, a service area of real towns, hours you answer, the same phone, and the site URL.

Answer all 7 items. 0 of 7 answered. The score stays in this browser. Nothing is saved.

Publish the page

A free ServiceBase site covers the public page, the phone and city you enter, the services, the service area, and structured data that matches. You still fill out Google yourself, and you replace the sample reviews. The longer note is why answer engines skip a local company.

Questions

Does this checklist save or send my answers?

No. The score is calculated in the browser from the answers you select. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent to ServiceBase.

Does a high score mean ChatGPT will recommend my company?

No. A high score means the public facts an answer engine would need are written down and consistent. ChatGPT, Google AI, and Perplexity still decide what to cite.

What does partly mean?

Partly is half credit. Use it when the fact exists but does not match everywhere, such as a phone number that is on the site and not on the truck.

Does ServiceBase create my Google Business Profile?

No. The site gives you a page, a phone number, a city, services, and a service area you can copy onto the profile. You still sign in to Google yourself.
