How to get furnace repair leads

How a furnace tech gets no-heat calls without buying a shared lead: the page, the listing, the form, and the towns you can actually reach.

A furnace lead is a house that is cold and a person who will hire the company that sounds like it will show up. The expensive way to meet that person is a shared lead: the same caller sold to several trucks, often after they already talked to someone else. The slower way is a page that names no heat, the city, and how to reach you, plus a Google listing that matches it. The slower way compounds, because the request is yours.

This is not a promise that a website outspends an ad. It is the work that makes an ad, a neighbor's recommendation, and a map search land in the same place. The furnace repair start guide is the filing, license, and insurance version. This note is how the phone rings after that paperwork exists.

Say the failure before you say the company

People do not search for your origin story in January. They search no heat, furnace not blowing, a smell when the heat comes on, and the city. The headline should be one of those, in the towns you drive. "Heating and cooling solutions for the metro" is how a page hides.

Repair and replacement are different calls. A household with a dead ignitor does not want a sales appointment for a new system. A household with a cracked heat exchanger does not want a capacitor story. Write both, in that order: you diagnose, you repair what you can finish, and you quote a replacement after the cabinet is open. If you do not service boilers, oil, or the cooling coil, say that in the same screen. The calls you decline are part of a lead system that does not waste the truck.

The furnace repair website guide is the checklist. City pages, such as Minneapolis and Chicago, are the local version: basements and boilers in one market, a shorter heating season in another. Use the shape. Do not claim the neighborhoods if the van does not go there. A Dallas–Fort Worth page should say the heating season is a cold snap, not a five-month contract. Copying the Minneapolis headline onto it is how the page looks imported.

The listing has to match the page

The Google Business Profile is the other half of the same fact. Primary category for the calls you want. Hours you actually answer, including holiday hours for the weeks you do not. A service area made of towns you can reach when the house is already cold, not the whole state. The phone number and the company name spelled the same way as the website, the truck, and the invoice.

Photos of furnaces you have opened beat a stock cabinet. A review that names the neighborhood and whether it was a repair or a replacement is the one that helps the next caller. A review that says "great service" does not. Ask after the house is warm, not at the estimate, and do not buy the stars. The Google Business Profile guide is the longer version. The winter checklist covers hours and posts for the season you actually answer.

A post on the listing can be one sentence: no-heat diagnosis in the towns you named, this week. A greeting with no service and no date does not help.

The form is the lead

A missed call is a lead you already paid for with the ranking and then dropped. Put the phone number at the top. Say whether a night call is a truck or a voicemail you hear in the morning. The form should ask for the symptom, the fuel if they know it, the part of town, and whether anyone in the house is at risk from the cold. A model number is optional. A phone number is not.

You can decline the job. You cannot unsend a vague visit that crossed town for a boiler you do not service. The missed-call calculator turns the calls you think you miss into a monthly figure from the numbers you type. It is not a national average. Use it before you buy a text-back tool. A clear voicemail and a same-day callback cover most of what those tools sell.

When you are ready to publish, create the free site with the trade and the city. Quote requests stay on your list. In this version there is no card. The page will not diagnose the furnace, and it will not pull the permit.

What not to buy first

A shared furnace lead feels like progress because the phone rings the same day. It also trains you to compete on speed against companies that received the same caller. Your close rate on those calls is the number that matters, and you will not know it until you have tracked a month. Start with people who already know your work, a page that states the towns, and a form that works at 9 p.m. Add ads on top of that if the page is converting. Ads do not fix a page that could belong to any company.

Field-service software is a different purchase. Housecall Pro and similar tools schedule and invoice. They are useful when the jobs exist. They do not write the service area. The HVAC winter leads note is the neighboring trade: no-heat and no-cool are not the same headline, and a shop that does both should say so instead of blending them into a slogan.

Price the diagnostic visit before you need it on a porch. The job pricing calculator uses your overhead, the pay you want, and the hours you enter. A few hundred dollars is a planning range people use for a common part. It is not your quote. A heat exchanger and a full furnace are different visits. Publish the range only if you are willing to explain why this house is not the range.

The week it gets cold

The leads show up when the forecast changes, not when you feel ready. In a long heating season that is late fall through winter. In a short season it is a handful of nights, and the page still has to be up before the first one. Check the listing hours, the form, and the sentence that says you diagnose first. Then answer the phone you printed.

Questions

How do I get furnace repair leads without buying them?

Publish a page that leads with no heat and the towns you drive, match the Google listing to that page, and give people a form for the calls you miss. A shared lead can sit on top of that. It does not replace it.

Should a furnace page lead with replacement?

Lead with the symptom and a diagnosis. Replacement is a real job. It belongs after you have shown you open the furnace before you quote a new one.

What should the quote form ask?

The symptom, the fuel if they know it, the part of town, and whether anyone is at risk from the cold. A model number is optional. A phone number is not.
