ServiceBase vs Housecall Pro for small contractors

ServiceBase is a free contractor page and lead list. Housecall Pro is paid software for booking, scheduling, and invoices, with its own website offer.

Housecall Pro and ServiceBase both talk to home-service owners. Housecall Pro is the operating software: booking, schedules, quotes, invoices, and reviews. ServiceBase is the public page and the list of quote requests that page collects. A small contractor can need one, the other, or both, and should not buy the wrong one first.

The comparison below uses Housecall Pro's public pricing page and the ServiceBase product as it ships in this version. It does not estimate a return on investment, and it does not treat marketing claims on either site as a promise.

What each product is for

ServiceBase publishes a storefront for one trade and one city, with the services the owner listed, and files quote requests and promotion claims for that owner. Publishing does not require a card. Marketing credits start at $500 for boosts and placements. Buying more is not available, and nothing is charged. The product does not dispatch a technician or send an invoice. Custom domains are not included.

Housecall Pro's pricing page describes online booking, invoices and payments, scheduling, quotes, and review tools on the Basic plan, and it advertises a website that Housecall Pro builds and manages. That is a broader office system, plus a website offer inside the same vendor. It is a paid product with a trial, not a free page you keep without a plan.

Price, as of the public page

Reviewed November 2, 2026, housecallpro.com/pricing said plans start at $59 per month and showed Basic at $59 per month when billed annually. The same page described a 14-day trial of the Max plan with no credit card. On the Max plan it listed additional users at $35 per month. Essentials and Max are higher tiers. Their base prices were not a single figure we are willing to reprint, because the page changes the recommendation with team size and goals. Read the pricing page for the current number. Card processing was listed starting at 2.59 percent. That fee is separate from the subscription.

ServiceBase has no equivalent subscription in this version, and it also has no card-processing rate, because it does not take the customer's payment. If you want invoices and cards, Housecall Pro publishes that path. If you want the page and the request list without a monthly software bill, ServiceBase is the narrower free tool.

Websites, leads, and the rest of the stack

Housecall Pro offering a website does not make the two websites the same. Theirs is bundled with the field-service plan and managed by them. ServiceBase is a self-serve page the owner edits, on a ServiceBase address in this version, with the quote form writing into the owner's list. A contractor who already pays for Housecall Pro should ask whether that website names the towns and the jobs in text, not only in an image. A contractor who does not want the scheduling suite yet can publish the ServiceBase page and leave the operating software for later.

Neither tool replaces the license, the insurance, or a Google Business Profile you verify yourself. Housecall Pro's review tools can ask customers for reviews. ServiceBase does not log in to Google. The map listing is still the owner's job. Fair use is: ServiceBase for the page and the inbound requests, Housecall Pro when booking, dispatch, and getting paid are the work you are ready to pay a monthly plan for.

Questions

Is ServiceBase cheaper than Housecall Pro?

ServiceBase does not charge a subscription to publish, in this version. Housecall Pro's public page, as of November 2, 2026, started at $59 per month for Basic when billed annually, plus payment-processing fees if you take cards. Cheaper is only true for the website-and-list job. It is not a discount on scheduling software ServiceBase does not include.

Does Housecall Pro include a website?

Its pricing page advertises a professional website built and managed by Housecall Pro. The plan that includes it, and any extra fee, is on that page. ServiceBase is a separate product, not a Housecall Pro template.

What is the Housecall Pro free trial?

As of November 2, 2026, Housecall Pro said the Max plan is free for 14 days with no credit card. That trial is their offer. It is not a ServiceBase account.

Do I need Housecall Pro to get leads on ServiceBase?

No. Quote requests from a ServiceBase page stay in the owner's list. Housecall Pro is optional software for running jobs after you have them. You can add it later, or not.
